And how I realized that fashion was more than a hobby
HOW DID I GET HERE?
My name is Denise Schinazi. I'm married to my first boyfriend, mother of an amazing girl called Liora.
My professional fashion story began in 2020. When the pandemic hit, I was 22 weeks pregnant. Nobody knew about the effects of COVID-19 on pregnant women and babies, so I closed myself at home. Nobody saw my belly growing. Liora was born in July 2020, without maternity visits, not even from my family. Just me and my husband.
The beginning of motherhood was pretty much like that too, just family and close friends eventually...
I spent a lot of time at home and, with this pandemic + maternity combo, I ended up getting a little careless about my appearance, I always wore the same clothes (after all, I was at home anyway, and it was easier to breastfeed, sit on the floor with a baby, etc.), and I fell into an inertia that didn't match who I was before. I've always enjoyed fashion, choosing my outfits... at the age of 8, I made clothes with scraps for my Barbies and even did their fashion show. When I was a teenager, I customized all my t-shirts, and in my 20s, at the time of bloggers, I expected midnight to pay for just one wrist (revealing my age! lol) to enter all the fashion blogs and consume all the information Icould on the subject.
But anyway, cut to 2020 again, where I had already graduated in physiotherapy for 11 years, with a consolidated career, was an entrepreneur (I had a the Physiotherapy and Pilates clinic). I was in the middle of a pandemic and I couldn't find myself.
I decided to change it! I started to put on my styled outfits again, even if it was to stay at home, I started to take better care of myself, and I went back to consuming more fashion content. I realized the transforming power of feeling good about my closet and appearence, after all, we get dressed every day, right? I understood that with motherhood my style had changed, and that's why - and not just because of the pandemic - I didn't feel well in my clothes. My outfits didn't ooze who I was now.
I started to figure out my new style, and not only the way I dressed changed. It changed my life, my self-esteem, my confidence. How powerful it is for us to dress up as ourselves!!
Then came the decision to study this professionally, I enrolled in the "Profession Personal Stylist" course - with the mega brazilian references in the area Fefe Resende and Thais Farage - by the School of Fashion and Entrepreneurship.
I confirmed that I really wanted to do this: work with my childhood passion, change the lives of so many people. Empowering, improving the relationship with the closet, revealing personalities in the form of clothes! And so I'm here!
And you, have you already rediscovered your closet?
